If you are new to vaping, you may have noticed some throat irritation and coughing. While this is fairly common for new vapers, it is something easily avoided and is generally a sign of improper vaping.
First, consider the strength of nicotine you are using and the device you have. High nicotine e-liquids and nic salts should not be used in sub-ohm and high power devices. Generally speaking, if the nicotine in an e-liquid is in a high concentration, you should be using a device that does not produce a lot of vapor.
Next, examine how much nicotine you actually need and reconsider the e-liquid you are using. Many new vapers often use an e-liquid with far too much nicotine, causing throat irritation and other detrimental effects.
