The coil is perhaps one of the most important components in your e-cigarette/vaporizer but it’s still a consumable item that needs to be replaced over time. Knowing when to replace your coil is something every vaper should know how to do and it’ll save you and your taste buds to know when exactly this needs to happen. Some common signs of a “dead” coil include;
- A burnt or “off taste”
- Leaking or aggressive spitback
- A dark or discoloured coil
- A significant drop in vapor production
All those signs are common indicators of a coil that needs to be replaced, but the biggest indicator has to be the dreaded dry hit. If you’ve been using a coil for a while and you suddenly taste burnt cotton and metal, it may be time to replace your coil. Using a “dead” will not only leave you with a bad taste in your mouth but can also introduce harmful chemicals into your body as you inhale burnt cotton and metal.
